My bff mullhollands and I were chatting the other night while I was watching Friday Night Lights. Tim Riggins, played by Taylor Kitsch, came on the screen while we were talking. Of course, being me, I made the stupid comment that Tim reminded me of James 'Sawyer' Ford, played by Josh Hollaway, from Lost. Which somehow blew up into this massive picspam where I stretch my mind and try and compare Tim Riggins with Sawyer. Warning: there are spoilers for all seasons of both shows. I even spoiled myself for FNL while doing this. ~~Actually, Becca spoiled me, but I'm not complaining.~~ Most of the commentary is based on season one of FNL because when I started this, that's what I was watching. The Lost part is all the way up to the recent finale. Other warnings: this is massive. Like, idek. Somehow it got way OUT OF CONTROL and ended up being like 2094328729 caps long, I don't even. Obligatory: don't take the caps to use for your own shit. Becca capped the FNL ones for me and she gets cranky when people steal. And I colored them, so, you know, still don't steal them. This was hard work. I'd hate to have to kill someone, you know.

Both Tim and Sawyer know how to rock the loose button down shirts. A lot of the times they're plaid, especially for Tim Riggins, but they all seem to be button-challenged. Not that any of us our complaining because unbuttoned shirts mean hairless chestal areas, which, you know, A+. Also, the shaggy, dirty blond/brown hair thing they've both got going on is certainly eye catching. I know for sure my grandma would notice because she'd be like "Why is his hair always in his face?" and I'd be like "You're looking at his hair?" But maybe that's just me. And omg look at how they stand in promo pics. It's like they are brothers from another mother or something. (Possibly the same mother because I've never seen Tim's mom so, idk). brb fanfic.

Alright, they have a lot in common in the looks department, but look how much they have in common when it comes to their personalities. Both of them don't mind getting in fights. Hell, Tim Riggins went looking for one at that pool bar. And Sawyer is definitely not an angel. They also both love to drink. I don't think I've gone an episode of FNL without seeing some kind of alcoholic beverage in Tim's hand. And I'm sure that if Sawyer could, he'd be boozing it up on the beach with BOTH Kate and Juliet. ~~And probably Shannon and Claire and AnaLucia.~~ And both of them definitely have some daddy issues hard core. Poor boys.

3. Relationships

The relationships on both shows are both my favorite part and the parts that make me want to tear my hair out. For instance WHY IS NO RELATIONSHIP SACRED ON FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS WHY ARE ALL THE GUYS WANTING TO STICK IT IN SOMEONE ELSE OMG. But, I digress. It's a lot harder for me compare the relationships because it's half based on looks and half based on how the guys act with the girls. And also because it gives away the surprise ending to this picspam. But anyway, first off: Tim & Lyla. Lyla is the Kate in this Tim as Sawyer scenario. Mainly because Tim keeps going back to her, much like how Sawyer will always love Kate in some aspect. Apparently, Tim also ends up with Lyla so hnnnnnnng. The other couple, Tim & Tyra :') are like Sawyer and Juliet but without the happy domestication we saw in season five of Lost. In fact, Tim and Tyra barely last a few episodes or something ~~even though I am totally still rooting for them.~~

4. Comparable Scenes

Both Tim and Sawyer got into this habit on their respective shows where they rescue small blonde girls. In FNL, it's Julie Taylor and in Lost, it's Claire Littleton. Both men love saving these girls, whether it be from tornadoes or from explosions. I'm sure the girls are very thankful. ~~I know I would be, ifyouknowwhatimean.~~

Tim: How you doin'?
Riley: Good.
Tim: You good?
Riley: Yeah.
Tim: How's that goin'?
Riley: Good. I think I might, may be one beer away from gettin' laid.
Tim: No kiddin'.
Riley: Yeah.
Tim: Nice. That's great.
Riley: Great. She's great.
Tim: Hey, listen. If you ever look at her, even tonight, again, at school, anytime for that matter, I swear to God I'll end you.
Riley: Okay. Right on.
Tim: We cool?
Riley: Absolutely.
Tim: Okay.

Sawyer: Don't even think about it.
Miles: What?
Sawyer: Don't look at her. Don't talk to her. Don't mess with her. You got a restraining order. Twenty feet.
Miles: What are you, her big brother?
Sawyer: No. I'm the guy that's gonna put a boot in your face unless you say "Yeah, I getcha."
Miles: Yeah, I getcha.

Both men are also very good with words (especially Sawyer with all of his nicknames). They use their words (read: threats) to once again save the blondes that somehow always need saving. The overprotective big brother quality is really sexy, boys.

hnnnnnnng. Boys. With. Babies. I think that's all that needs to be said.

d. always a good role model

Okay, so maybe they're not role models per se. But seeing cute boys with adorable kids makes my heart melt. Their interactions with the children are hilarious too. Neither of them know how to handle themselves around kids. But omg Tim Riggins teaching Bo to fight pretty much solidified him in the Marry category.

1. We've already had Tim vs. Sawyer. But how about Jason vs. Jack. Besides both starting with J, both of these men cry a lot, can be utter tools, and both kinda sorta had their gfs taken away from them by stringy-haired, plaid wearing, hairless chested men.

2. And Lyla vs. Kate. The 'waffling whore(s)**'. Lyla is there for Jason, but then sleeps with his bffl. And then she can't be there for Jason. And then she IS there for Jason. And then sleeping with the bff again. DOES THAT REMIND YOU OF ANYONE?! Kate Austen, come on down. It's time for TV's Most Waffling Whore Contest. On tonight's episode, it's Lyla Garrity vs Kate Austen. WHO WILL WIN?! You decide.

3. Next up is Tyra vs. Juliet. Both Blonde Bombshells. And both the semi faithful girlfriends of the Shirtless Wonders, Tim and Sawyer. Both loyal to a fault, though Tyra not so much WITH THAT WHOLE THING WITH SMASH I MEAN COME ONE TYRA WHAT IS THIS I DON'T EVEN. ANYWAY, OMG. Both Tyra and Juliet find themselves reluctanct legs in these Squares of Love in FNL and Lost. And both seem to take it with grace and dignity. YOU GO ~~GLEN COCO~~ TYRA AND JULIET! YOU GO!

4. Aww, my favorite couple thus far: Matt and Julie. Being the 'youngest' in our merry band of football loving Dillon-ites, they are obviously the equivalent of my favorite Lost couple, Charlie Pace and Claire Littleton. Of course, Matt Saracen is not an ex-junkie, nor is he a rockstar. But he's tiny and looks cute with the other tiny blonde, Julie Taylor. So, Matt = Charlie (only without the drugs and the rockstar and the tattoos) and Julie = Claire. Which, you know, I said in the picpam above, where Tim was saving Julie = Sawyer saving Claire. Basically, I just love tiny blondes being saved by flannel-wearing hotties.

5. Okay, obviously, Smash = John Locke. Seriously, there can be no other comparison. I'm just waiting for the day when Smash yells "YOU CAN'T TELL ME WHAT I CAN'T DO!" Only, it'd be more like "YOU CAN'T TELL THE SMASH WHAT HE CAN'T DO!" because of that whole talking in third person thing that he does. And like John, Smash seems to think he's the ~leader~ of the Panthers which, lol, no Smash. Just...no. Needless to say, Smash will never be as fierce as John Locke. However, John Locke will never be as sassy as The Smash.

6. With so many comparisons, it's not a surprise that Coach Taylor and Mrs. Coach are on this list. And who better to represent them? None other than the Island's resident sassy couple, Rose and Bernard. Seriously, both couples are wise, full of witty advice, and the love that they show towards each other is OUT OF CONTROL. Tami/Coach is seriously one of my favorite couples. And Rose and Bernard are so cute together sometimes I think I might vomit.

7. And finally, last, but not least, we have Landry and Hurley. Because if Matt is Charlie, then of course the best friend has to be Hurley. Both Landry and Hurley are there for their best friends and they're both fiercely loyal. But that's pretty much as far as that comparisons go because I was thinking about this earlier because if Landry equals Hurley but hooks up with Tyra then that would be like Hurley hooking up with Juliet and then I was just freaked out and had to take a break lol.

characteraday

characteraday is a community for original writers and fanfiction writers alike. At characteraday, writers can create characters for their own original universes or create a character to drop in an established universe.

Every day, a picture is posted of a person or people (sometimes an animal) along with some prompts to fill in (name, general description, back story, etc) as well as a personalized question made just for that character. You're not limited to the amount of characters to create from the person that's posted. If your imagination decides to gift you with several characters, feel free to come up with as many as you want.

Here are a few examples.

Another part of characteraday are the _____-a-Week prompts that are posted. Every day, along with the character post, another post goes up with daily themes.

Monday - Scene a Week - a random scene is chosen and posted with questions and prompts regarding said scene. Example
Tuesday - Name a Week - a name is chosen and posted with questions and prompts regarding said name. Example
Wednesday - Place a Week - a picture of place is chosen and posted with questions and prompts regarding said place. Example
Thursday - Ship a Week - four pictures are chosen and posted together with questions and prompts regarding said pictures. The idea is to choose two or more of the four people and pair them together, whether romantically or within a friendship. Example
Friday - Title a Week - a title is chosen and posted with questions and prompts regarding said title. Example
Saturday - Item a Week - an object or an item is posted with questions and prompts regarding said item. Example
Sunday - Random a Week - song lyrics, a quote, or a 'spook' is posted with questions and prompts regarding said random item. Example

Basically, it's an open playground for writers who need a place to get those ~extra characters~ out, or to put a face to a name, or a name to a face. We're very laid back, but we do have some rules.

If you'd like to kick start your imagination, I think characteraday is the place for you!

And if those bunnies start hopping, our sister community, characteratplay, is a place to post any fleshed out stories that might come from characters or scenes or objects from characteraday.

THE STORY

Should they succeed, their fellow castaways will be saved. Charlie has accepted his harrowing fate, as foretold by one of Desmond's flashes...until another vision contradicts his predicted death, and he is given another chance.

(In a nutshell: The canon events that occurred in the Looking Glass station will be rewritten and Charlie will live. Once the roles have been filled, the group will chat and figure out what they'd like to do with their character in this new universe. What fun would that be for you, anyway? And while the summary does sound rather Charlie- and Desmond-centric, after the first post or two, they'll "fade" into the background. It will be an ensemble RP.)

Right now, brave men and women in Iran, both young and old, are sacrificing their lives for their voices to be heard. They must fear not only the police, but also the Basij -a force of men loyal to the government who plant themselves among crowds in plain clothes in order to discretely attack protesters and incite chaos.The protesters are peaceful. They mass together in crowds that are reported to grow in size every day. At night they have very few, if any, safe places to stay. Houses with satelite dishes were attacked by the Basij tonight, and during the 50 minutes of Twitter's maintenance, another university was attacked.

The most obvious thing to do is stay informed. Keep an eye on reliable sources on Twitter, refresh blogs and news sites that are covering the stories.

If you are on twitter, retweet information from reliable twitters, but REMOVE THE USERNAME if they are in Iran. People have died because of the lack of responsibility by fellow tweeters and the media in this front. They can be tracked down by the government of Iran.

Spread the information elsewhere. Repost this article or write your own on Facebook, Myspace, Tumblr, or anywhere else you can think of. If you write your own, make sure you are concise and accurate. Link to your sources for people to learn more.

Change your location on Twitter to Tehran or Iran, and your time zone to GMT +3:30.

DO NOT auto-refresh and take down websites, even if you are asked. It slows down the internet for the rest of the people in Iran.

If you make a proxy DO NOT post it publically, otherwise it is useless. Send it in a direct message to a trusted source.

DO NOT spam the hash tag #IranElection with useless things to "confuse the government". This does not help at all.

I was not watching the news today, nor did I read the newspaper or get online all day. Therefore, I didn't hear about this until I got on ontd_twatlight. I read, I caught up, and I'm distraught.

If you are reading this right now, you have more luxury than someone in Iran could ever hope for right now. If you are watching TV or a video on youtube, updating your status on Facebook, Tweeting, or even texting your friend, you are lucky. If you are safe in your home, and were able to sleep last night without the sounds of screaming from the rooftops, you need to know and understand what is happening to people just like you in Iran right now.

They are not the enemy. They are a people whose election has been stolen. For the first time in a long time, a voice for change struck the youth of Iran, just as it did for many people in the United States only seven months ago. Hossein Mousavi gained the support of millions of people in Iran as a Presidential candidate. He stands for progressiveness. He supports good relations with the West, and the rest of the world. He is supported with fervor as he challenges the oppressive regime of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

On Friday, millions of people waited for hours in line to vote in Iran's Presidential election. Later that night, as votes came in, Mousavi was alerted that he was winning by a two-thirds margin. Then there was a change. Suddenly, it was Ahmadinejad who had 68% of the vote - in areas which have been firmly against his political party, he overwhelmingly won. Within three hours, millions of votes were supposedly counted - the victor was Ahmadinejad. Immediately fraud was suspected - there was no way he could have won by this great a margin with such oppposition. Since then, reports have been coming in of burned ballots, or in some cases numbers being given without any being counted at all. None of this is confirmed, but what happened next seems to do the trick.

The people of Iran took the streets and rooftops. They shout "Death to the dictator" and "Allah o akbar." They join together to protest. Peacefully. The police attack some, but they stay strong. Riots happen, and the shouting continues all night. Text messaging was disabled, as was satellite, and websites which can spread information such as Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, and the BBC are blocked in the country. At five in the morning, Arabic speaking soldiers (the people of Iran speak Farsi) stormed a university in the capital city of Tehran. While sleeping in their dormitories, five students were killed. Others were wounded. These soldiers are thought to have been brought in by Ahmadinejad from Lebanon. Today, 192 of the university's faculty have resigned in protest.

Mousavi requested that the government allow a peaceful rally to occur this morning - the request was denied. Many thought that it would not happen. Nevertheless, first a few thousand people showed up in the streets of Tehran. At this point, it is estimated that 1 to 2 million people were there. Mousavi spoke on the top of a car. The police stood by. For a few hours, everything was peaceful. Right now, the same cannot be said. Reports of injuries, shootings, and killings are flooding the internet. Twitter has been an invaluable source - those in Iran who still know how to access it are updating regularly with picture evidence. People are being brutally beaten. Tonight will be another night without rest for so many in Iran no older than I am. Tonight there is a Green Revolution.

Describe the Character Physically in Your Own Words: Long and lean with the body of a dancer. Her hair is an auburn color that highlights her pale skin and green eyes.
One Line Description of Character: A spoiled dancer who learns the lesson of love from someone she least expected.
Tell Us About the Character: Claire was born to Stephen and Claudia Mobley, two of the most powerful and rich people on the planet. Claire is the heir to a huge fortune, but she almost doesn't want it. If she weren't so used to the extravagancies that her parents money has provided, she would give it all up in a heartbeat. She is a superb dancer and it's the one thing that she does for herself. Her parents donated a bunch of money to Juilliard, so she would be able to go, not that she needed the help because as soon as they saw her dance, the admissions center accepted her. After graduation, she went on to one of the top ballet companies in the world, based in Paris.

Tell Us About the Character: Noah Arney was always just an average guy. He was born to middle class parents, the middle child with an older brother and a younger sister. He was an average student and an average soccer player on the school team. The only thing he was exceptionally good at was drumming. He got a full ride to Juilliard on a drumming scholarship. It was there that he started to express himself more and died his hair, much to the chagrin of his mother. When he finally graduated from Juilliard, he joined the up and coming band, The Hot Big Bang Theory! as their drummer. Presently, they are traveling around with Sugarcult as their opening act.
Where did he get that cat? What is its name?: It's actually his sister's cat, Rose, that he's cuddling on a rare trip home.

Her eyes are a bright, light blue that stand out against her pale skin. She's pretty, but not beautiful, with a fine figure that she uses to her advantage.
One Line Description of Character: She's Claire's trustworthy best friend.
Tell Us About the Character: She grew up with just her father and three brothers after her mother ran out on them when she was seven. She's the youngest of the children and had to put up with all of her brothers' shinanigans. She always loved to act and got through her childhood pretending to be someone else. She got into Juilliard on a partial scholarship that is based partly on her acting ability and partly academics.
What is she dressed up for? Her senior class play, the one that will get her discovered. She plays Gaia, the Greek Mythology equivalent of Mother Earth.

Describe the Character Physically in Your Own Words: The Good Looking One. His perfect skin and orthodontically straight teeth have made him the best looking guy at Juilliard. His parents money have made him the most popular and his ability to rock a guitar like no other has made him one of the most sought after musicians to come out of Juilliard. He may not look like it, but he puts a lot of time and effort in his looks. It takes a lot of time in the morning to get his hair to look that disheveled and his apparent 'I don't give a f*ck' outfit was actually planned out the night before.
One Line Description of Character: He wants Claire who wants nothing to do with him, but he is the object of Alice's affection, but wants nothing to do with her; also the semi occassionaly best friend of Noah.
Tell us more about the character: Another Juilliard student, this time for his advanced music abilities, focusing on guitar. He is the Popular Guy that all the girls seem to flock too. He may seem like The Jerk in the beginning but he soon learns that their is more to life than good looks and music. His parents were never around as a kid and he was pretty much raised by a nanny. He got into Juilliard at a fairly young age and just never left.
Who was the last person he kissed (romantically)? He's kissed a lot of girls, but never in a romantic way. It's always just been to get what he wants.
